Sad story, I liked a lot of movies she was in. Actress Brittany Murphy is dead of a heart attack at 32. She went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday and could not be revived, the Website TMZ reported. The Los Angeles City Fire Department got a call from the home of Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack about 8 a.m., fire officials told TMZ. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival

Tiger Woods is just another example of a person being excellent at their profession, who had way too many naive people presuming he was also a great guy based on that. That’s really a pet peeve of mine. He is a great golfer, but that’s all most people really knew about him. Having a nice smile, which he should since he’s made a billion dollars & can afford cosmetic dentistry, and giving a good sound byte… doesn’t give him good personal values or character that anyone should admire.
In fact, there was a lot of prior evidence to the contrary long before he was caught cheating on his wife. Yelling & cursing at fans, having his caddy almost assault them, not signing autographs, etc… I am for one, am not surprised at all by the recent news. I kind of expect someone who started as a young child getting to run around golf courses, got to go to Stanford University cause of his golf skill, and has made so much money, to be overly cocky & self-indulgent.
If you want to be as rich or as skilled at something as he is, that’s great. But you should have never aspired to be the same kind of guy he is in general, or bought products just because he endorses them. Like 90% of his career earnings are off endorsements. Obviously his public image sold a lot crap he probably never even used himself, and just sold his name to. All those companies associated with him by paying for his image to represent their product, got exactly what they deserved by selling out to a celebrity endorsement.
Though it probably won’t long before some currently disappointed fans & companies return to thinking he’s a great guy. He’ll probably give a fake apology, and return to being great at his job, and many will just forget about all the current negative publicity. Like it was all made up by the media, when all that was really made up was the image of him being a great human being.
Same thing with Kobe Bryant. He cheated on his wife too, was accused of rape even, bad-mouthed his teammates, etc… and his reputation, fans, & endorsements all dropped for a while. But let some time pass, win a championship, and you’re right back on top like nothing ever happened.
Are people just absent-minded goldfish with a 3-second memory? It disgusts me to see people cheer & root for the people who have proven they don’t deserve it. I will not ever be buying the bullshit them & corporate america is selling, no matter how many apologies they make & how much time passes.
