I say “stolen” and you’re probably thinking some guys walked into a warehouse, then walked out with a few palette’s worth of product. Think again: These thieves targeted and then crashed a car into a van loaded with thousands of copies of the game, driving in southern Paris.

According to French site TFI News, after the car crashed into the van, two individuals wearing masks emerged and used tear gas—that’s right, tear gas—to subdue the truck drivers. They then absconded with the truck, reported to be carrying some 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 estimated in value at about 400,000 euros (about $550,000 USD).

It’s like an episode of Breaking Bad, only with video games (and real). What’s next? Will game shipments require armored cars and guards with guns?

Most of the information revealed by the Porn Wikileaks site is likely to have come from computer files that originally belonged to the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation [AIM], an STD-testing facility based in the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles, which caters to the 1,500 working erotic film actors based in the region at any one time.

Under guidelines that are supposed to minimise the spread of HIV and other venereal diseases – in an industry that does not always insist on condom use except in titles aimed at the gay market – all pornographic actors are supposed to be tested at the clinic once a month. Producers and directors are then able to access the database it holds, before casting their movies.

The information published by Porn Wikileaks was first uploaded several weeks ago but only began being widely disseminated yesterday, after its existence was highlighted by Mike South, a blogger who covers adult entertainment issues. “Your information is now in the hands of people who shouldn’t have it,” he warned his readers in the trade.

Although the leaked database does not include private medical information or test results, it includes names, addresses and copies of identification documents of everyone who has registered at AIM. In some cases, it also includes Google Maps photos of their homes. The site will therefore effectively “out” anyone who has worked as an erotic actor since the clinic opened in 1998.

That prospect is uncomfortable for porn stars who have neglected to inform friends of family members of their profession. And it’s even more chilling for former adult actors who may have quit the trade several years ago in order to pursue mainstream employment. In two cases in recent months, US schools have sacked members of their teaching staff after it emerged they had starred in erotic films when younger.

No one knows what motivated the creator of Porn Wikileaks, which is amateurish and yesterday struggled to cope with a sudden surge in traffic. The site is registered in the Netherlands, apparently by a disgruntled member of the “porn press”, and describes the purpose of its existence as being a “media organisation” devoted to making the industry more transparent.

This year’s NBA Dunk Contest was one of the best in a long time. I don’t think its been better since the year Vince Carter beat Tracy McGrady. German Dad Castrates Daughter’s Older Boyfriend

(CBS) A German dad took matters of morality into his own hands when he sought out and castrated the 57-year-old boyfriend of his 17-year-old daughter, reports the British daily Telegraph.

Helmut Seifert, 47, an ethnic German originally from Russia, was enraged when he heard his daughter was having a relationship with the much older Phillip Genscher, the Telegraph reports.

Seifert claims to have approached police in his hometown of Bielefeld but officers said they were powerless to intervene, the Telegraph reports

“You said you couldn’t stop him – so I did,” Seifert said. “I saw it as my duty as a father.”

Seifert, a factory worker, recruited two work colleagues, went to Genscher’s house, forced the older man to take off his pants and then castrated him while fully conscious, the Telegraph reports.
“The severed testicles were taken away by the perpetrator,” the police said in a statement.
The victim barely survived the incident, but did not have all his parts reattached, the Telegraph reports.

I’m for the fight to protect copyrighted works, and for government playing a key role in protecting people. But it seems like its going too far if there’s no due process before something is shut down. Especially if sites are targeted that just link to other sites who violate laws. Can they not shut down the actual sites hosting copyright violations? If they are hosted foreign then get the foreign government to do it or pass a law here not allowing Internet services to connect to sites from that country anymore.

But you can’t control how the content changes on sites you don’t own and only link to, the site this story was published on and that I’m linking to could break the law somehow, then I could liable. The World Wide Web is not so worldly when access to sites is arbitrarily blocked at any time by governments. When it comes to technology governments often don’t even follow their own laws. Ever since the “war on terrorism” started and you can wiretap anyone’s phone without a warrant, I guess websites being shut down are nothing.
